Chicken Pakoras Recipe

Golden brown chicken pakoras are the ultimate winner for get-togethers and family reunions! Picture tender pieces of chicken marinated in a spicy-tangy mixture and coated in a crispy besan coating. When fried to perfection, they turn into irresistible nuggets of pure bliss. So grab your wok and let’s get fryin’!

Ingredients

  • 450 grams boneless chicken cubes
  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Fresh cilantro leaves

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the besan, rice flour, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt & pepper. Mix well.
  • Gradually add water to the mixture, a little at a time, and whisk until you have a batter with a smooth consistency.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the batter, making sure they are well coated. Allow the chicken to marinate in the batter for at least 30 minutes before frying.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Carefully drop the chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry until crispy and golden brown.
  • Remove the fried chicken pakoras from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
